The FightLite® AMG-2 (Assault Machine Gun) is a lightweight, air cooled, gas-piston/pusher-rod operated, Dual-Feed®, Automatic weapon that operates reliably with both M16 rifle magazines and M27 linked ammunition common to the M249 SAW. It functions in both semi-automatic and full-automatic modes of fire permitting the user to selectively engage the enemy with precision or suppressive fires as needed. The gas-piston operation directs most of the propellant gases and fouling forward and out of the muzzle allowing the AMG-2 to remain less fouled in adverse conditions and during extended periods of use.

Equipped with a MIL-STD 1913 handguard for the mounting of bipods, heat shields, lights, lasers, forward grips and accessories; the AMG-2 also features a True Quick-Change barrel that can be swapped by the user without tools in as little as 3 seconds. AMG-2 barrels are available in 12.5”, 16.25” and 20” inch lengths for both heat mitigation and maximum mission flexibility - from suppressed CQB to wide open terrain.

The AMG-2 boasts a 50% weight reduction over the M249 SAW allowing users to be faster, less fatigued and more agile during aggressive and highly dynamic combat operations. Sound suppressor and grenade launcher capable, the AMG-2 is designed for a lifetime of hard use and is simple to maintain in the field without tools or special equipment. And for decreased training time and reduced logistical footprint, the AMG-2 shares significant ergonomics and part commonality with the infantry rifle making it easier to support in the field.

Unlike typical belt-fed platforms, our newest member of the AMG family features a unique left-to-right side opening feed cover. This addition is not only more robust, but also allows for a full length, co-planar 1913 picatinny top rail. This immense amount of unrivaled real estate is ideal for the addition of lights, lasers, optics, magnifiers, and thermal or NVG units in any combination, without the placement limitations of a typical top opening feed cover.
