Ailumina Vista™ is an AI-based traffic awareness system for rotorcraft that detects all traffic—including non-cooperative, like birds and drones. Tested in 1,200+ flight hours, it’s poised to be the first safety-critical AI-enhanced system to obtain FAA and EASA certification.
Description
Description
Ailumina Vista™ is the first pilot-aid technology for rotorcraft that acts as pilot-aid technology serving as another pair of eyes in the cockpit: continuously tracking the sky, never tired, more attentive and reliable than human vision.
Powered by a neural network (sub-set of machine learning) and based on advanced computer vision, it detects all traffic, including noncooperative —such as bird flocks, balloons, paragliders, gliders, and drones—that traditional systems like ADS-B can’t see.
By integrating seamlessly with TCAS, TAS, and ATAS, it creates a unified traffic advisory interface that enhances situational awareness far beyond what human vision or existing systems alone can provide. With semantic recognition and interpretation of visual input from onboard cameras, proprietary technology developed by Daedalean, Ailumina Vista™ delivers consistent, deterministic performance: given the same image, it always produces the same output, with no in-flight learning or unpredictability. Capable of detecting and tracking up to 36 moving objects simultaneously, it has been tested in over 1,200 hours of real-world flight and validated through extensive simulation.
Certification to DAL-C with both the FAA and EASA is in progress, positioning Ailumina Vista™ to become the first certified AI system in aviation.
