On August 17, 1945, in the name of the Indonesian nation, Soekarno-Hatta proclaimed independence at Jalan Pegangsaan Timur No. 56 Jakarta, attended by young people from all over Jakarta. In the afternoon, the young people held a grand parade, and in front of the proclaimer of Indonesian independence, Soekarno-Hatta, they declared their determination to defend Indonesian independence. From that moment on, the Indonesian people fought to defend their independence from the threat of the return of the shackles of Dutch and Japanese colonialism.
