The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency was established based on Presidential Regulation Number 199 of 2024 concerning the Ministry of Creative Economy, and Presidential Regulation Number 200 of 2024 concerning the Creative Economy Agency.

The Ministry of Creative Economy is a ministry that organizes sub-government affairs of the creative economy which is the scope of government affairs in the tourism sector.

The Ministry of Creative Economy has the task of organizing sub-government affairs of the creative economy which is the scope of government affairs in the tourism sector to assist the President in organizing state governance.

The Ministry of Creative Economy carries out the following functions:

Formulation and determination of policies in the creative economy sector;
Coordination and synchronization of policy implementation in the creative economy sector;
Coordination of the implementation of tasks, coaching, and provision of administrative support to all organizational elements within the Ministry;
Management of state property/assets which is the responsibility of the Ministry;
Supervision of the implementation of tasks within the Ministry; and
Implementation of other functions assigned by the President.

The Creative Economy Agency , hereinafter abbreviated as Bekraf, is a Non-Ministerial Government Institution that carries out government duties in the creative economy sector. Bekraf is under and responsible to the President.

Bekraf carries out government duties in the creative economy sector based on the provisions of laws and regulations.

Bekraf carries out the following functions:

Formulation and determination of technical policies in the field of strategic development of the creative economy, cultural and design creativity, digital and technological creativity, and media creativity;
Implementation of technical policies in the field of strategic development of the creative economy, cultural and design creativity, digital and technological creativity, and media creativity;
Coordination and synchronization of the implementation of technical policies in the field of strategic development of the creative economy, cultural and design creativity, digital and technological creativity, and media creativity;
Preparation of norms, standards, procedures and criteria in the field of strategic development of the creative economy, cultural and design creativity, digital and technological creativity and media creativity;
Implementation of technical guidance and supervision in the field of strategic development of the creative economy, cultural and design creativity, digital and technological creativity, and media creativity;
Coordination of task implementation, coaching, and provision of administrative support to all organizational elements within Bekraf;
Management of state property/assets which is the responsibility of Bekraf;
Supervision of the implementation of tasks within Bekraf; and
Implementation of substantive support to all organizational elements within Bekraf.
