Maximum Power Point Tracker
Packet Digital
It’s essential to account for sunlight changes, solar-panel temperature, vehicle orientation, and other factors, for efficient solar power generation during long-endurance UAS operations. Packet Digital’s Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) hardware and embedded algorithms take precise power measurements and adjust settings quickly to maintain maximum power transfer from solar panels to battery storage, pushing the limits on solar UAS operations.
Custom Designed Printed Circuit Boards
Packet Digital
Surface Mount Technology (SMT) is a key process in the electronics manufacturing industry, used for the assembly of electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs). Packet Digital’s SMT line offers considerable advantages for PCB assembly including smaller component sizes, higher component density and increased automation.
Custom battery design for drones and unmanned aircraft systems
Packet Digital
Benefits of Packet Digital’s custom lithium-ion batteries for UAS and drones: 30–40% higher energy density than the competition, increased energy density allows for greater UAS range, 2–3x higher cycle life, rugged construction with IP67 capable, battery fleet management software with Packet Digital’s charging system, and design, prototyping, and manufacturing capabilities.

About
Packet Digital is an engineering and manufacturing company focused on UAS battery development and production. Founded in 2003, Packet Digital’s team has experience developing reliable, high-performance batteries and power systems for the world’s most demanding UAS applications. Packet Digital has a full suite of capabilities at its two Fargo, ND locations including a seasoned team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, fast prototyping equipment, and test equipment. In addition to engineering capabilities, Packet Digital also has a wide breadth of manufacturing capabilities, including battery cell welding, assembly, and automated testing, as well as an SMT line, allowing in-house assembly of printed circuit boards to IPC Class 3 standards.
In addition to its hardware design and manufacturing capabilities, Packet Digital’s subsidiary, Botlink, has a full team of software engineers. Botlink has been building drone command and control software for nearly ten years, and has extensive experience architecting cloud processing and mapping software. Additionally, Botlink produces the XRD, which is a hardware and software platform that enables drone operations over public and private cellular networks, opening up near-limitless BVLOS operations.
